Chelsea enters race for Philadelphia Union striker Malik Jakupovic

Chelsea FC has entered the race to sign Malik Jakupovic, a 17-year-old striker playing for the Philadelphia Union in Major League Soccer. While the London club is currently monitoring the player's development, they have not yet initiated formal transfer negotiations.

Jakupovic, a 6ft 3in center-forward, has attracted significant interest from several major European clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, RB Salzburg, VfB Stuttgart, and AS Monaco. Dortmund reportedly made offers totaling €3 million during the summer transfer window, but these were rejected by the Philadelphia Union.

The Philadelphia Union holds a strong negotiating position, as Jakupovic is under contract until 2030 with an option for an additional season. Reports suggest the MLS club expects a fee in the double-digit millions before considering a sale.
