Chelsea eyes Granit Xhaka and Enzo Fernández as priority signings under Xabi Alonso
Premier League side Chelsea, newly appointed under former Spain midfielder Xabi Alonso, is pursuing a reshuffle of its midfield. Reports indicate that Alonso is urging a move for Swiss captain Granit Xhaka, currently at Sunderland, to reunite the former Bayer Leverkusen teammates. Xhaka, 34, is under contract until 2028 and would join Chelsea without a high transfer fee, according to club sources.
At the same time, Chelsea’s other senior coach, José Mourinho, has identified Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernández as his “priority” signing. The player, linked with Real Madrid, is expected to be a key target for the London club in the upcoming transfer window, with potential departures such as Eduardo Camavinga being discussed to free up space and budget.
