Chelsea eyes winger Zadok Yohanna while weighing Alejandro Garnacho exit
Chelsea are reportedly close to signing 18‑year‑old Nigerian winger Zadok Yohanna from AIK on a long‑term deal that could run until 2034, with a fee around €25 million. The club sees him as a potential addition on the left flank, although other Premier League sides such as Brighton and Newcastle have also made enquiries.
At the same time, Chelsea's incoming manager Xabi Alonso is evaluating the squad and may offload Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho, who struggled to make an impact after a £40 million move. Garnacho made only 14 Premier League starts, scored once and is on a contract to 2032. Alonso has indicated a desire for several "ready‑made" players to strengthen the side ahead of the 2026‑27 season.
Both moves form part of a broader summer transfer strategy aimed at reshaping a squad that finished 10th in the Premier League and aims to return to competing for trophies.
