Chelsea face tactical and selection challenges under Xabi Alonso

Chelsea is experiencing inconsistent form, securing only two wins in their last six matches. Manager Xabi Alonso has faced scrutiny regarding the team's low possession statistics, which critics suggest has allowed opponents to dictate the tempo and exploit structural gaps. Alonso has defended his tactical approach, prioritizing match results over possession figures.

In addition to tactical concerns, Alonso addressed the limited playing time of striker Estevao, citing a lack of physicality required for the intense nature of the Premier League. Alonso noted that while Estevao is in a recovery process following an injury, the player's integration has been further complicated by recent forced substitutions due to injuries and cramps to players such as Moises Caicedo and Malo Gusto.
