Chelsea faces defensive crisis after 3-0 loss to Brentford

Chelsea suffered a 3-0 defeat against Brentford, marking a period of significant defensive instability for the club. The team has conceded 12 goals in its first five Premier League matches, failing to keep a clean sheet in the league this season.

Following the loss, manager Xabi Alonso expressed disappointment, stating the team lacked the “competitive mentality” and consistency required to compete in the Premier League. The match also saw internal tension, with reports of a heated exchange between Jordan Henderson and goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez following a poorly defended corner.

Individual performances are also under scrutiny. Midfielder Valentin Barco struggled to make an impact during the match, leading to speculation that he may be excluded from the main squad for upcoming fixtures as Alonso considers tactical adjustments.
