Chelsea faces Tottenham in Premier League Round 8

Chelsea is set to host Tottenham at Stamford Bridge for the eighth round of the 2026-2027 Premier League season. Chelsea currently sits in fourth place with 13 points, following recent victories against Bournemouth and Everton. Under manager Xabi Alonso, the team has scored 17 goals in seven matches.

Tottenham enters the match in 16th place with 6 points, narrowly avoiding the relegation zone. Despite a recent 3-1 win against Coventry, the team under Roberto De Zerbi faces significant challenges, including the absence of Rodrigo Bentancur due to suspension and various fitness issues among players.

Chelsea holds a historical advantage, having won their last six encounters against Tottenham in the league. However, Chelsea may be without goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, who requires jaw surgery, potentially leaving the starting position to 21-year-old Mike Penders.
