Chelsea FC eyes Jules Koundé transfer amid Caicedo return

Chelsea FC is reportedly interested in signing Barcelona defender Jules Koundé. Koundé has seen a reduction in playing time under Hans-Dieter Flick, as players like Eric Garcia have taken on more prominent roles. Due to this shift in status, Barcelona management, including Joan Laporta and Deco, has reportedly granted permission to negotiate his transfer. Xabi Alonso, currently managing Chelsea, views Koundé as a potential fit for a five-defender system, utilizing his physicality and ball distribution.

In team news, Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso expressed excitement regarding the potential return of midfielder Moises Caicedo to the lineup. Alonso noted that the squad highly values Caicedo’s generosity and effort on the pitch. While Caicedo is expected to return, his playing time may be limited initially as he regains match fitness. Additionally, reports indicate that Cole Palmer has signed a new contract with the club.
