Chelsea FC faces multiple injury setbacks ahead of Tottenham match

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has provided updates on several key players ahead of the club's upcoming fixtures. Goalkeeper Emi Martinez is expected to be sidelined for several weeks following surgery to repair a broken jaw sustained during a match against Everton.

Winger Jamie Gittens remains unavailable for competitive action for at least a few more weeks after sustaining an injury during international duty with the England Under-21s. Reports suggest he may not return to the squad until after the November international break, meaning he will miss upcoming matches against Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Sunderland.

In terms of availability, Malo Gusto has been cleared for selection for the match against Tottenham. However, Pep Chavarria and Emmanuel Emegha have been ruled out, joining the long-term absentee Reece James.
