Chelsea FC undergoes squad restructuring under Xabi Alonso

Chelsea FC is undergoing significant squad restructuring under manager Xabi Alonso as the club attempts to reduce a roster that exceeds 40 players. A group of approximately 12 players is currently training separately from the main first-team squad at the Cobham training center.

Key attacking players facing uncertain futures include Nicolas Jackson and Liam Delap, both of whom are training with the second group. Delap has reportedly lost the number 9 shirt to Joao Pedro, while Jackson is attracting interest from various European and Premier League clubs. Other defenders, such as Tosin Adarabioyo and Axel Disasi, are also part of this secondary training group.

Spanish forward Marc Guiu has also been left without a squad number, a move interpreted as a sign that the club is looking to facilitate his departure this summer. The club is reportedly seeking to trim the squad to focus on a core group of strikers, including Joao Pedro, Danny Welbeck, and Emmanuel Emegha.

Unlike previous years, the club has not isolated these players in a separate facility, allowing them to use the same pitches and schedules as the first team. This approach aims to manage the large squad while preparing for the upcoming season.
