Chelsea targets Khusanov, Scott, and Wharton for January transfer window

Chelsea is reportedly targeting several reinforcements during the upcoming January transfer window to address defensive and midfield shortages.

In defense, the club is monitoring Manchester City centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov. The 22-year-old Uzbekistan international is being considered as a potential solution after Chelsea conceded 12 goals in their first five Premier League matches. While Khusanov recently signed a new deal at the Etihad Stadium, his recent lack of consistent playing time has made him a target for Chelsea and three other Premier League clubs.

To bolster the midfield, Chelsea has identified Bournemouth’s Alex Scott and Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton as primary targets. The club previously made a £64m bid for the 23-year-old Scott in July, which was rejected by Bournemouth. Internal discussions suggest the club is prioritizing young, technically proficient players who fit a specific long-term profile rather than seeking short-term stop-gap options.
