Joao Pedro signs new Chelsea contract until 2034

Chelsea FC has announced a long-term contract extension for Brazilian forward Joao Pedro, securing his future at Stamford Bridge until 2034. The deal includes a clause that could extend his stay through 2032 with two additional years of options.

The 24-year-old striker, who joined from Brighton & Hove Albion in July 2025, has become a central figure in the club’s project under manager Xabi Alonso. Pedro’s debut season was highly successful, during which he scored 20 goals in all competitions and played a decisive role in Chelsea winning the FIFA Club World Cup, scoring in both the semi-final and the final.

Following his performance, Pedro was voted the club’s Player of the Season by supporters. As part of the new agreement, he will also take over the number 9 shirt. Manager Xabi Alonso praised Pedro’s development, noting his growth as both a player and a leader within the squad.
