Chelsea FC undergoes major squad rebuild under Xabi Alonso

Chelsea FC is undergoing a significant squad overhaul under new manager Xabi Alonso, spending over €400 million on transfers to rebuild the team following a tenth-place Premier League finish.

A major highlight of the recruitment drive is the $224 million signing of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa, which sets a new record for a British player transfer. Alonso noted that Rogers' flexibility will be a key asset to the squad. Other significant acquisitions include Maxence Lacroix for approximately €60 million and several other players such as Palestra, Queanda, and Jordan Henderson.

On the departures side, the club has generated revenue through the sales of Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid for €55 million and Andrey Santos to Manchester United for €56.3 million. Other players, including Chalobah and Tyrique George, have also moved to new clubs. Alonso expressed optimism about the team's energy and talent as they aim to become competitive in the Premier League again.
