Chelsea FC Women secure Katie Cox contract and integrate Katie McCabe

Chelsea FC Women have secured the long-term future of academy goalkeeper Katie Cox with a new three-year contract. Following the agreement, the 20-year-old will join Nottingham Forest on loan for the 2026/27 WSL 2 campaign to gain further senior experience.

In addition to Cox’s contract extension, Republic of Ireland captain Katie McCabe is settling into her new role at Chelsea. McCabe expressed a deep personal connection to the club, noting that Chelsea’s former players inspired her during her childhood. Her integration into the squad has been supported by existing relationships with teammates such as Erin Cuthbert.
