Chelsea joins race for Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers
Morgan Rogers, the 23‑year‑old England international who moved from Middlesbrough to Aston Villa in January 2024, has attracted renewed interest ahead of the 2025‑26 summer transfer window. In his first season with Villa, the attacking midfielder recorded 14 goals and 16 assists across all competitions, earned the PFA Young Player of the Year award and is on track to exceed those numbers this campaign with 24 goal contributions so far. Rogers is contracted to Villa until 2031, with the club placing an £80 million valuation on him.
London club Chelsea have been confirmed as one of several Premier League sides – alongside Arsenal, Manchester United and French giants Paris Saint‑Germain – seeking to sign Rogers. The interest was reported by source Ekrem Konur, who noted Chelsea’s intention to make a bid in the summer window.
The potential move comes as Villa continue to qualify for European competition, while Rogers remains a key figure in their attacking play.
