Chelsea plots major signings and sales as Xabi Alonso prepares new squad

Chelsea is preparing a €70 million bid for Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo, a move backed by new manager Xabi Alonso who wants to reshape the team's attack. The Spanish trainer views Olmo as a key piece for the club’s offensive rebuild ahead of the next Premier League season.

At the same time, the club is under pressure to sell assets after missing out on European competition. Manchester City have expressed interest in Chelsea defender Malo Gusto, with a reported fee around £31 million, while Bayern Munich also monitors the French youngster. The sales would help balance Chelsea’s finances, which are strained by Barcelona’s need to offload players.

Other clubs, including Arsenal and Al‑Nassr from Saudi Arabia, are also linked to Olmo, but Chelsea appears to be the frontrunner in the negotiations.
