Chelsea pursues Bosnian wonderkid Kerim Alajbegovic

Chelsea Football Club have entered the race to sign 18‑year‑old Bosnian forward Kerim Alajbegovic, with Premier League manager Xabi Alonso reportedly urging the club to act. Alajbegovic, who spent last season on loan at Red Bull Salzburg, recorded 17 goal contributions and was named the league’s best debutant in Austria. Bayer Leverkusen have triggered a clause to bring him back and are said to be willing to sell for around €8 million. Italian clubs, notably Atalanta, have also shown interest, but Chelsea’s pursuit is now seen as the priority. The transfer is viewed as a move to add pace and creativity to Chelsea’s flanks.

Media reports from both the UK and Bosnia highlight the competition for the player, noting that he could replace departing forward Alejandro Garnacho and would reunite with Alonso, who coached Alajbegovic at Bayer’s youth level.
