Chelsea's Xabi Alonso targets midfield signing and evaluates striker Nicolas Jackson
Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso is reportedly planning to strengthen the midfield by pursuing Argentine midfielder Exequiel Palacios from Bayer Leverkusen. Palacios, whose contract runs until 2030, is valued at around €30 million and is also being chased by Manchester City, Manchester United and Juventus, making any deal highly competitive.
In addition, Alonso wants to assess Senegalese forward Nicolas Jackson during the pre‑season to decide his future at the club. Jackson, who spent the previous season on loan at Bayern Munich but saw limited action behind Harry Kane, will be watched closely. Chelsea may consider a sale if a suitable financial offer emerges, as the club will not be playing in European competitions next season.
