Chelsea readies £70m offer for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott

Chelsea Football Club is preparing an improved transfer bid of around £70 million for 22‑year‑old Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, after a £64 million offer was turned down. Bournemouth have set a valuation of about £80 million and say they have no intention to sell, despite the club's strong financial position following qualification for European competition.

Other Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal, have also shown interest, but sources say Chelsea are currently the front‑runner. The bid comes as the Blues, now led by head coach Xabi Alonso, also target other midfield options such as Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson.
