Chelsea secures Joao Pedro with new contract until 2033

Chelsea Football Club has agreed a new contract for Brazilian forward João Pedro, extending his stay until 2033 and delivering a substantial salary rise. The deal follows a debut season in which the 24‑year‑old scored 20 goals and provided six assists in 50 appearances, helping the club win the Club World Cup and delivering a hat‑trick against Sydney Wanderers in a pre‑season friendly.

The extension is intended to make the striker "in‑negotiable" amid reported interest from Barcelona, Arsenal and other European sides willing to spend over €100 million. Manager Xabi Alonso praised Pedro as a core element of Chelsea’s long‑term project and confirmed the club acted quickly to lock down its most productive attacking outlet.

By securing Pedro, Chelsea aims to stabilise its frontline and ward off potential poaching, signalling confidence in the player’s role both for the club’s domestic campaign and his future contributions to the Brazil national team.
