Chelsea set to loan out defender Mamadou Sarr for a second stint

Chelsea are preparing to send 20‑year‑old centre‑back Mamadou Sarr out on loan again this summer after he saw limited first‑team action. The French defender joined the club from Strasbourg in June 2025 and was initially loaned back to the Ligue 1 side, but his spell was cut short following the appointment of Liam Rosenior and he returned to London, making only six appearances for the Blues.

According to reports from The Standard, the club intends the new loan move to give Sarr regular playing time as he competes with incoming defensive target Maxence Lacroix and incoming manager Xabi Alonso’s plans. Possible destinations include a return to Strasbourg or a move to Italian side Como, but a final decision has yet to be confirmed.
