Chelsea signs Marco Palestra from Atalanta for €55 million

Chelsea have completed the transfer of 22‑year‑old Italian left‑back Marco Palestra from Atalanta for a reported €55 million. The deal includes a contract running until 2032 with an option for a further year. Palestra arrived in London for a medical examination ahead of the signing.

The move aims to address Chelsea's defensive frailties – the club has conceded 24 goals in 17 Premier League matches – and reflects the new manager Enzo Maresca's strategy of investing in young talent to rejuvenate the squad.
