Chelsea spends over €340 million on summer transfers under Xabi Alonso

Chelsea Football Club has recorded total spending of roughly €342 million on new players during the 2024 summer transfer window. The most costly signing is English forward Morgan Rogers, bought from Aston Villa for about €138 million, making him the most expensive British player ever and the club's record purchase. Other notable arrivals include French centre‑back Maxence Lacroix for €60 million, Italian full‑back Marco Palestra for €57 million, Portuguese winger Geovany Quenda for €50 million and Dutch striker Emmanuel Emegha for €25 million. Younger prospects Alves Denner (€10 million) and Dastan Satpaev (€2.4 million) also joined. The spending surge occurs as Chelsea prepares for a season without European competition after finishing tenth in the Premier League, and adds to the more than €2 billion total outlay recorded by owners BlueCo since taking control in 2022.
