Chelsea Targets Striker Folarin Balogun as Monaco Sets €50‑55m Price

Chelsea are closely monitoring US forward Folarin Balogun, who has told AS Monaco he wants a new challenge. Monaco, where Balogun is under contract until 2028, have set an asking price of €50‑55 million, up from the €30 million they paid Arsenal last year. The 24‑year‑old striker recorded 19 goals and five assists in Ligue 1 last season and has earned 29 caps with 11 goals for the United States.

Chelsea, managed by Xabi Alonso, are weighing the option alongside other interested clubs such as Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Newcastle United and Barcelona. While Balogun would add depth to a forward‑rich squad, the transfer would depend on whether the Blues deem the valuation justified and a clear role for him in the team.

Balogun’s move is also seen as commercially attractive for Chelsea given his American profile and USMNT status, which could expand the club’s market in the United States.
