Chelsea open to £40m sale of Alejandro Garnacho to Napoli

Chelsea have indicated they are prepared to let Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho leave the club for a fee of around £40 million (about €46 million). Garnacho arrived from Manchester United last summer for the same amount but recorded a disappointing season, scoring eight goals in all competitions and just one in the Premier Premier League, and was omitted from Argentina’s World Cup squad. Manager Xabi Alonso is looking to revamp his attack, making Garnacho surplus to requirements.

Serie A side Napoli have renewed interest in the 21‑year‑old, viewing him as a potential boost for Massimiliano Allegri’s frontline. The club is reportedly ready to meet Chelsea’s revised valuation, after earlier attempts at higher prices fell through. River Plate in Argentina are also monitoring the situation, and AS Roma were previously linked with the player, though no concrete offers have emerged. Chelsea have yet to confirm whether any deal would be a permanent transfer or a loan.

The potential move could see Garnacho revive his career with regular playing time, while Chelsea aim to recoup their initial outlay after a season that fell short of expectations.
