Chelsea Wolfe releases ninth studio album ‘The Dark’

Musician and multidisciplinary artist Chelsea Wolfe has released her ninth studio album, titled ‘The Dark’, via Loma Vista Recordings. The 10-track LP explores themes of grief, spirituality, personal power, and the afterlife, utilizing the metaphor of entering the darkest parts of the woods to facilitate transformation.

Created with co-writer Jennifer Decilveo and longtime collaborator Ben Chisholm, the album features a diverse group of contributors, including Robin Finck of Nine Inch Nails, Matt Chamberlain of Pearl Jam, Troy Van Leeuwen of Queens Of The Stone Age, Stella Mozgawa of Warpaint, and Justin Meldal-Johnsen.

Wolfe’s career has been defined by a genre-blending approach that incorporates gothic rock, folk, doom metal, industrial, and electronic music. While her previous work has ranged from the heavy sounds of ‘Hiss Spun’ to the stripped-back folk of ‘Birth of Violence’, ‘The Dark’ represents a continued evolution of her signature atmospheric and experimental songwriting.
