Chełm military exercises to involve loud explosions and gunfire

Planned military exercises will take place on Monday, September 21, between 14:00 and 15:00 in the Chełm region. The maneuvers will be concentrated near Lubelska, Trubakowska, and Majdan streets.

During the training, residents may hear loud bangs, series of shots, and sounds of explosions. Soldiers will use pyrotechnics and specialized training materials to realistically simulate battlefield conditions, which may also produce smoke effects.

Authorities and organizers have appealed for calm, noting that all sounds are part of the controlled training scenario. Officials emphasized that the exercises are fully supervised by instructors and pose no threat to the safety of civilians or nearby properties.
