Chemistry Ventures fundraising plans under scrutiny

Chemistry Ventures, a venture‑capital firm founded in October 2024 by Mark Goldberg, Ethan Kurzweil and Kristina Shen, closed a $350 million debut fund aimed at software startups in 2024. One report claims the firm is raising a $500 million second fund to expand its investments in AI, fintech and infrastructure software. The claim notes that the new fund would double the size of the first and that the firm is already "oversubscribed" by limited partners.

Research as of July 2026, however, found no public filing or confirmed announcement of a $500 million second fund, describing the claim as unverified. The firm’s latest disclosed activity was a $30 million participation in a funding round for AI startup ComfyUI in April 2026. Chemistry Ventures continues to focus on seed and Series A software investments, particularly in fintech and infrastructure, and has not shown involvement in cryptocurrency or digital‑asset projects.
