Chemmy Alcott hospitalized after failed dive in French Alps

Former British downhill skier Chemmy Alcott was hospitalized after a failed somersault during a holiday in Lac d’Annecy, located in the French Alps.

While jumping from a five-meter platform, Alcott experienced poor rotation and incorrect timing, resulting in a hard impact with the water. Although she was able to reach the shore on her own, she subsequently experienced difficulty breathing. Medical examinations revealed that the impact caused a collapsed lung.

The 44-year-old former four-time Olympian and current BBC expert spent several days in the hospital, where doctors had to insert a drainage tube to remove air and fluid from her chest cavity.
