Chełmno to host international light art festival
The Światłoczuły International Festival returns to Chełmno, Poland, from August 27 to 29. For three evenings, between 20:00 and 23:00, the city’s Gothic architecture will serve as a backdrop for 12 audiovisual installations.
Artists and collectives from Poland, Germany, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Romania, and Armenia will participate in the free event. Key attractions include the immersive ‘Flora Spectrum’ by the Hungarian group Lightspray Visual and the ‘Heart of the City’ mapping on the town hall facade by Łukasz Wiese. Other works include interactive installations such as the Czech ‘Pig Farm’ and ‘Animals,’ which combine art with ecology.
The festival route spans various historical sites, including the market square, the Grudziądz Gate, the Holy Spirit Church, and the city’s Planty. Additionally, the ‘Guardians of the Gate’ installation at the Grudziądz Gate features drawings by local children from a competition organized by the Chełmno Cultural Center.
