Chen Chao-ting suffers epileptic seizure during Ming Hwa Yuan performance

Chen Chao-ting, a lead performer and third-generation member of the Ming Hwa Yuan Dramatic Troupe, suffered a sudden epileptic seizure during a performance of ‘The Legend of Mo Lou’ in Hsinchu on August 14.

The incident occurred at the Fumei Temple during a performance that had been rescheduled due to Typhoon White Dolphin. Despite the medical emergency, the troupe managed to fill the roles within five minutes, allowing the show to continue without interruption.

Following medical attention, Chen was discharged from the hospital the same evening to recover at home. In a social media post, Chen expressed her gratitude to her troupe members for their quick response and apologized to the audience for the scare. She noted that the seizure was unexpected and shared that her birthday wish for the year is for health and safety for herself and her loved ones.
