Chen Chi-mai delivers final administrative report in Kaohsiung

Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai delivered his final administrative report to the Kaohsiung City Council, reflecting on his six years in office. During the 50-minute presentation, Chen addressed various municipal issues, including flood control, the economic impact of concerts, light rail completion, tourism, industrial development, public safety, and food security.

Chen described his tenure as a “wonderful journey” and expressed a deep commitment to his hometown. He noted that he has approached his duties with constant caution and vigilance, mentioning that the pressure of managing the city—particularly during heavy rainfall and emergency situations—often resulted in poor sleep quality. He emphasized a proactive approach to problem-solving, urging officials to remain on the front lines to understand and meet citizen needs.
