Chen Hsing-yu accuses ex-husband of harassing children over assets

Chen Hsing-yu, daughter of former President Chen Shui-bian, has accused her ex-husband, Chao Chien-ming, of harassing their three children through continuous phone calls. The dispute centers on the management of assets originally intended as education funds for the children.

Chen Hsing-yu and her brother, Chen Chih-chung, claim that Chao is pressuring the children to agree to the redemption of stocks and funds. However, they allege that Chao maintains exclusive control over the account passwords and transaction details, making it impossible for the children to verify balances or ensure the funds will actually reach them.

According to the family, the current automated transfer settings only allow funds to be moved to Chao’s personal account rather than the children’s own bank accounts in the United States. Chen Hsing-yu expressed frustration that Chao has failed to provide clear transaction records for years, despite the information being easily accessible via online banking.
