Chen Shui-bian launches AI meme contest on Threads

Former Taiwanese President Chen Shui-bian has launched the ‘First Abian AI Meme Contest’ on the social media platform Threads. Inspired by former President Tsai Ing-wen’s recent mushroom-themed AI meme competition, Chen is inviting users to showcase their creativity through AI-generated imagery.

Winners will receive various prizes, including signed copies of Chen’s memoir ‘Persistence’, signed sets of the ‘National History Archives Interview Records’, a signed out-of-print 2004 Bian-wa figure, and a signed battle top box for the first-place winner. Submissions are due by 21:00 on Wednesday, August 26.

Meanwhile, Tsai Ing-wen has concluded her own meme competition, selecting 11 standout mushroom-themed works. She praised the creativity and vitality of Taiwanese citizens, noting that the freedom in Taiwan allows for such playful interactions with former leaders.
