Chen Shuyin enters Zhejiang University medical program at age 12

Chen Shuyin, a child prodigy from Zhanjiang, Guangdong, gained significant attention after enrolling in Zhejiang University at the age of 12. In 2017, she entered the university's 5+3 experimental medical program after scoring 620 on her college entrance examination, which was 135 points above the required threshold.

Her academic journey began early; she started primary school at age 6 and entered middle school at age 7, often studying alongside peers six to seven years older. Despite her later success, her path included challenges, such as ranking 300th in her school during her early middle school years. Her parents noted that her development was driven by a natural love for reading rather than specialized tutoring or unconventional training methods.
