Chen Su-yue unveils education reform plan for Changhua County

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) nominee Chen Su-yue released a comprehensive education policy white paper on June 30 as part of her campaign for Changhua County mayor. The document outlines five flagship initiatives: establishing international bilingual schools modeled on the newly built Lukang International Junior High, assigning a dedicated security guard to each school to strengthen campus safety, extending family‑support services through the "Fluorescent Plan 2.0" that expands childcare from elementary to kindergarten with subsidised extended hours, promoting mother‑tongue and character education, and deploying AI‑enabled smart‑learning tools across classrooms.

Chen emphasizes that the reforms aim to retain talent, boost the county’s competitiveness and provide a secure, holistic environment for children and parents. The plan also includes increased subsidies for special‑needs and disadvantaged families, weekly nutritious meals, and a legal support platform for teachers.
