Cheng Li-wen appointed campaign chair for Wei Ping-cheng in Changhua

Cheng Li-wen has officially announced her appointment as the chairperson of Kuomintang (KMT) candidate Wei Ping-cheng’s campaign headquarters for the Changhua County Magistrate election. The announcement was made during a meeting for the establishment of the 26 township and city elite advisory group.

This leadership move follows reports that current Changhua County Magistrate Wang Hui-mei declined to take the position due to internal party tensions regarding the nomination process. While Wang sent a floral arrangement to the event, she did not attend.

During her speech, Cheng emphasized the importance of Changhua as Taiwan’s most populous county and called for unity within the blue camp to prevent population loss and ensure regional development. She also criticized the Democratic Progressive Party’s New Tide faction, accusing them of using resources to influence local elections.
