Cheng Li-wen celebrates Taiwan Pride Parade in Maleficent costume

Kuomintang Chairperson Cheng Li-wen shared a video on social media to offer her blessings for the 24th Taiwan Pride Parade, which coincided with Halloween on October 31.

Due to campaign commitments, Cheng was unable to attend the event in person. Instead, she dressed as the character Maleficent from the film Maleficent to participate virtually. Cheng noted that while fairy tales often depict the character as evil, the film teaches that letting go of prejudice allows one to see a person's true nature. She emphasized that love takes many forms beyond the traditional prince and princess narrative, stating that sincere love deserves understanding and respect regardless of labels.
