Chennai Airport parking fees increased by Airports Authority of India

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has implemented a hike in parking charges at Chennai airport, with the revised rates taking effect from Sunday, October 11. The increase, which is approximately 5%, is part of a contract agreement.

For cars, the fee for stays up to 30 minutes has risen from Rs 85 to Rs 90, while the charge for one to two hours has increased from Rs 165 to Rs 175. Long-term parking for cars (10 to 24 hours) is now Rs 580. Two-wheeler rates remain unchanged for stays up to two hours, but longer durations will see increases of Rs 5 to Rs 10.

Larger vehicles face steeper increases. Vehicles with fewer than 16 seats will pay Rs 345 for up to two hours and Rs 1,155 for 10 to 24 hours. For vehicles with more than 16 seats, the 24-hour charge has risen to Rs 2,315. Additionally, AAI has revised penalties for lost parking tickets, setting them at Rs 580 for cars and Rs 175 for two-wheelers, in addition to the applicable parking fees.
