Chennai Airport passengers report bird infestations and broken trolleys

Passengers at Chennai Airport are reporting multiple service issues, including bird infestations in dining areas and faulty luggage equipment. Travelers have noted that pigeons and crows are entering food courts and restaurants, often hovering around tables or attempting to take food directly from plates, which has forced some to abandon their meals.

In addition to the bird menace, passengers arriving from international locations such as London, Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi have reported significant delays in receiving checked baggage. Once luggage is collected, travelers have faced difficulties using airport trolleys, many of which are reportedly damaged with broken wheels, causing bags to tilt or fall.

Airport officials stated that protective nets were previously installed to prevent birds from entering, but some sections may have become loose or damaged. Authorities have committed to repairing these nets and noted that teams are working to identify, isolate, and repair damaged trolleys.
