Chennai Open WTA 250 to be held in November

The Tamil Nadu Tennis Association (TNTA) has announced that the Chennai Open WTA 250 International Women’s Tennis Championship will take place from November 2 to 8. This marks the third time the event is being held in Chennai and the second consecutive year for this specific WTA 250 tournament.

TNTA President and Indian tennis legend Vijay Amritraj stated that the event is expected to attract players ranked among the top 100 in the world. He noted that the tournament aims to promote women’s tennis and provide local players with opportunities to compete on an international stage, citing the previous success of Indian players Sahaja Yamalapali and Shrivalli Bhamdipaty in the competition.

For the upcoming edition, the tournament will implement electronic Line Calling technology on all three match courts for the first time.
