Chennai Photo Biennale launches third International Open Call

The Chennai Photo Biennale (CPB) has launched the third edition of its International Open Call, beginning August 19, 2026, to coincide with World Photography Day. Held in partnership with SIGMA India, the call invites photographers and lens-based artists from around the world to submit work without a prescribed theme.

Submissions are open from August 19 through October 31, 2026. The call accepts various styles, including nature, portraiture, documentary, landscape, and experimental practices. While submissions must be rooted in photography or lens-based media, they may intersect with other forms such as sculpture, sound, or performance.

Selected works will be exhibited in Chennai during January and February 2027. Previous editions of the event have seen significant engagement, receiving over 15,000 image submissions from more than 40 countries and attracting over 100,000 visitors to various venues in the city.
