Chennai police arrest four in hacking death of man seeking protection

Police in Chennai have arrested four individuals, including a history-sheeter, in connection with the hacking death of a 26-year-old man in the Tiruvottiyur area.

The victim, identified as Pradeep Raj, was attacked by a gang a day after he filed formal complaints seeking police protection. In his statements to the media and various authorities, including the Chennai Commissioner Office, Raj had alleged that his family was facing threats due to a financial dispute.

Raj had also leveled allegations against a local Tiruvottiyur Police Inspector, claiming the officer had threatened him and was supporting the opposing party in the dispute. The attack occurred after Raj had been previously arrested following a counter-complaint filed against him.
