Chennai police investigate two separate fatal incidents
Authorities in Chennai are investigating two distinct incidents resulting in fatalities. In Perungalathur, a 62-year-old woman, Naseema Bee, died after being pushed to the ground while attempting to protect her son during a physical altercation. The dispute reportedly began as a family argument between the woman's son and his wife, which escalated when the woman's brother and four friends arrived to confront the son. Police have arrested five individuals, including the woman's brother, and have registered a murder case.
In a separate incident in Puzhal, a 42-year-old driver named Rajapandi died after falling from a building. Police state that Rajapandi allegedly attempted to take his own life to evade arrest following a harassment complaint filed by a former partner. While the man's family has alleged that police pushed him from the building, law enforcement has denied these claims. An investigation into the circumstances of the fall is currently underway.
