Chennai Scheduled Power Outage Affects Over 77 Areas on July 14

The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) will suspend electricity supply in Chennai on July 14, 2026 from 09:00 IST to 14:00 IST for essential maintenance. The outage will cover more than 77 neighbourhoods, including Iyyappanthangal, Kattupakkam, Chendurpuram, Tambaram, Karambakkam, Adyar, Ambattur Industrial Estate and Porur, among others. TNEB aims to complete the work and restore power before the scheduled end time. Residents are advised to make advance arrangements to minimise inconvenience during the five‑hour interruption.

The maintenance is part of TNEB’s ongoing effort to upgrade aging infrastructure and improve the reliability and safety of Chennai’s electricity distribution network.
