Chennai Super Kings face criticism over Gareth Batty coaching link

Former Indian cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth has criticized the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) regarding reports linking Gareth Batty to the team's batting coach position. Srikkanth described the potential appointment as a “complete horror” and a “mega blunder,” citing a mismatch of expertise.

Srikkanth questioned the decision to consider Batty, a former off-spinner, for a specialist batting role. He noted that Batty’s international cricket statistics show limited success as a batter, having scored only 183 runs across 20 international appearances without a half-century.

As an alternative, Srikkanth suggested that MS Dhoni would be better suited to guide the team's batters due to his extensive experience and ability to perform under pressure.
