Chennai Super Kings to investigate match-fixing and information leak allegations

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise has announced it will investigate allegations of corruption and information leaks following a sting operation by Tehelka. The team's board is scheduled to meet in the coming days ahead of its Annual General Meeting on September 25 to discuss the matter.

The allegations involve claims that a player within the squad leaked sensitive information regarding the team’s “playing 11” to a former First-Class cricketer in Delhi. According to the report, this individual allegedly sold the information to London-based bookmakers for ₹60 lakh per match during the 2025 IPL season, totaling ₹3 crore.

In the undercover investigation, former Ranji Trophy player Rachit Bhatia claimed he used the information to fix matches via Snapchat. He also allegedly suggested he could provide similar access for the 2026 season if a specific source was acquired in an auction. CSK officials have stated that while they maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward corruption, the information currently available remains unverified.
