Cheoin-gu expands lanes to alleviate traffic congestion in Yongin

Cheoin-gu, Yongin, has completed a road expansion project to alleviate chronic traffic congestion near the Foreign Language University intersection. The project involved expanding the lanes from Wangsan Bridge to the intersection from three to four lanes.

To avoid the need for extensive road widening, the district redistributed existing lane widths to add an extra lane for vehicles entering the Mohyeon direction. This modification specifically aims to separate left-turning vehicles heading toward Gwangju from through-traffic, addressing a significant bottleneck in the area.

The project, which cost approximately 80 million won, was carried out between July 24 and August 21. In addition to the lane expansion, authorities installed new colored guidance lines and reorganized safety zones to improve intersection safety and traffic flow.
