Cheonan Bread Pang Pang Day festival concludes in South Korea

The ‘2026 Bread Pang Pang Day Cheonan’ festival concluded its two-day event at the Cheonan General Stadium, establishing itself as a complex cultural festival focused on experience and community solidarity.

Co-hosted by Cheonan City and the Cheonan Branch of the Korea Baking Association, the event featured extensive baking programs. Approximately 4,872 participants across 800 teams engaged in making items such as walnut cakes, mini donuts, and cupcakes. The festival also promoted cultural diversity through traditional bread-making sessions involving eight different countries, including Vietnam, China, and the Philippines.

To support the local economy, 53 local bakeries participated in a bread market, and 17 farmer market stalls offered regional products like Cheonan pears and walnuts. A post-festival initiative encourages continued spending by offering a 10% discount at participating bakeries for visitors who present receipts from the event. The festival also included a 1,000-drone light show and musical performances by local arts groups.
