Cheonan paint raw material factory fire leaves three dead

A fire broke out at a paint raw material production factory in Dongnam-gu, Cheonan, South Korea, on the morning of August 28. The death toll from the incident has risen to three people.

The fire was reported at approximately 11:44 AM. Fire authorities initially issued a Level 1 emergency response at 12:05 PM to combat the blaze and conduct search operations. Following the discovery of bodies at the scene, officials confirmed that three individuals have died as a result of the fire.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Prime Minister have directed authorities to focus all efforts on fire suppression and search operations for any remaining missing persons. Local authorities issued emergency alerts advising nearby residents to exercise caution and requested that vehicles detour around the area.
