Cheonan teenager arrested for fatal stabbing of father

A foreign national teenager was arrested for the killing of his father and the critical injury of his mother in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province. The incident occurred around 1:10 AM in an apartment in Mokcheon-eup.

According to the Cheonan Dongnam Police Station, the 19-year-old suspect reportedly attacked his parents with a weapon following an argument between them regarding business matters. The suspect called emergency services himself immediately after the attack. While the father was transported to a university hospital, he was pronounced dead despite resuscitation efforts. The mother remains in critical condition.

Police have arrested the suspect on charges of parricide and are investigating the exact circumstances of the crime.
